Farm To Table Nature and Cooking Camp 

A week long of exploration of fun, hands-on cooking, out-door activities that integrate food and the environment. Each day campers will learn how to cook summer lunches by using ingredients that are in season and locally grown, bake healthy deserts, learn about the ingredients and their nutritional values, cooking techniques, mince, chop, grill …What’s the system that gets food from farm to table and how does this system effect the environment? How nature provides us with food?  Where our food comes from? Campers will learn also about urban farming, farmers markets, how to shop for the right ingredients, land, soil, seeds, animals, plants and more through daily excursions.  Campers will build valuable connection between our food, environment, local communities, all while making friendships and having lots of fun!

Daily cooking activities include preparing home-cooked summer lunches, snacks, and drinks.

Daily excursions include visit to SNAP to grow! Urban Farm School, Narrow Botanical Garden, Borough Hall Farmers Market, Rooftop Garden Brooklyn Grange, Park Slope Food Coop, Brooklyn Botanical Garden, PS 102 Edible Garden etc….

SPACE IS LIMITED TO 6 CAMPERS ONLY PER EACH SESSION

 

Camp runs in a weekly session during the summer 

Session 1 July 2-3-5-6  NO CAMP July 4th

Session 2 August 27-28-29-30-31 

Camp hours: 9AM to 3PM Extended hours maybe available upon request

Camper age: 6+

Camp location: Bay Ridge, Brooklyn
